CellfTaughtBio is a student-led nonprofit providing free, high-quality resources in biology to over 500 students worldwide. Founded and directed by Priya Sekhri, our team of 40+ student educators creates guides for AP Biology, the USA Biology Olympiad, and independent research. So... you're staring at your AP Biology textbook, wondering if mitosis is a Greek tragedy and if chloroplasts are some sort of TikTok filter. Been there. Cried there. Tutored my way out.
Hi, I’m Priya, your Executive Director of Academic Panic and Recovering AP Bio Survivor™. After years of tutoring 9th grade biology students, coaching for the USABO, and guiding overwhelmed AP Bio kids through the trenches of glycolysis and grief, I built CellfTaught Bio because I know exactly what it feels like to stare at your stack of flashcards and think: “There’s literally no way any of this is real. Did the pyruvates tell you that they were being phosphorylated or what? ”
I made CellfTaughtBio for students like you — whether you're self-studying, wildly behind, or just here because you Googled “funny bio notes” at 1 a.m. in a caffeine-induced spiral.
Here, any type of student will find something to help, whether they are:
Self-studying for the AP exam and want a roadmap through the wilderness of glycolysis and gene regulation
Drowning in coursework and need a life raft of chapter-by-chapter breakdowns
Craving review videos narrated by yours truly (Executive Director of Making Biology a Little Less Miserable™)
Looking forward to live cram sessions where we’ll hammer home the big ideas and help you finally understand the entire curriculum the night before the AP Exam
Obsessed with flashcards, memes, and practice questions that make you giggle while you learn
For the Lab Rats: We’ve got lab protocols, experiment walkthroughs, and breakdowns of the most confusing diagrams your teacher expects you to understand with zero context. Whether it’s osmosis, diffusion, or why on earth you’re measuring bubbles with a ruler, we’ve got explanations for you.
For the Overachievers (We See You, We Respect You, We Fear You): Check out our USABO Section — packed with extra-challenging resources, enrichment materials, and practice that goes beyond AP Bio, for those of you trying to become the next Olympiad legend or just impress strangers at science fairs.
For Everyone Else: Our Blog We post survival guides, mental health tips for science students, study hacks, exam strategies, and deep dives into biology topics — all written by someone who knows you’d rather be watching Netflix but also kind of wants a 5.
We’ve got everyone covered. Think of us as the Swiss Army knife of high school biology prep: Membranes? Check. Macromolecules? Check. Memes? Double check.
So, dust off your lab coat (or, you know, your comfiest sweatshirt), pour yourself a (virtual) cup of coffee, and join the CTB revolution. Together, we’ll decode DNA, conquer evolution, and maybe even discover why some students still can’t pronounce “isosmotic.” Your 5 awaits: no pipette required.
Lots of love (and prayers),
Priya Sekhri
